Welcome to Orihuela! Today your adventure begins. Take a rest from your arrival journey, check your bike and other equipment you will need to cycle the Camino del Levante. Tomorrow you have an incredible day ahead of you until you reach the city of Murcia on the Camino de la Vera Cruz.

You are in Murcia, a lively city, with lots of life in the streets, full of beautiful places to visit. The perfect place to savour its excellent gastronomy and great wines recognised worldwide. Today we take the opportunity to visit the city, enjoy its tapas and rest. Tomorrow we will cycle along the Camino del Levante towards Mula.

Departure to Mula, Camino del Levante.

Route between 25 and 30 kms. Most of the route will be practically flat, in some sections of the middle of the route it will be necessary to climb comfortably and gradually until you reach Mula.

Departure by bike from our hotel in Murcia city. We will ride along the first stretch of the Camino a Caravaca by bike path, parallel to the Segura river through the Murcian huerta.
Further on we will enter more arid countryside landscapes, where we will be able to enjoy the badlands between the fields of the river and Mula. At the end of the route we will reach Mula where the next accommodation awaits us for lunch and rest. Mula is well known for its thermal baths, highly coveted by the Romans in their time, and nowadays there are establishments that sell access to them. After more than 20 Kms by bike, they are a highly recommended option. The afternoon will be free to explore the town of Mula, stroll around and rest for the next day.

Bicycle route to Bullas. Jubilee Year Caravaca de la Cruz.

We continue along a dirt road for about 22Km. We will climb gradually, following the Camino del Levante, until we reach Bullas. A cycling trip suitable for everyone. The landscape begins to change progressively, we pass from orchard crops to mountain scenery, we travel towards the interior. Bullas has a denomination of origin for its wines, of great international value. We will arrive at lunch time, the perfect moment to taste the local gastronomy and wines. The afternoon will be free to explore the town and relax. Interesting visit to the wine museum.

We reach the final stretch of the Camino del Levante cycling route to Caravaca de la Cruz.

The last stretch of our adventure! We continue on a dirt road for 20Kms. During the route we will find uphill and downhill stretches with very little difference in height, 100m. The landscape is one of the most beautiful of the route. Following the Camino del Levante, we leave Bullas towards Cehegín, with destination Caravaca de la Cruz, the final point of the route. We will enjoy several tunnels, mountain landscapes, vineyards, until we reach the old town of Caravaca de la Cruz. We will arrive at midday to enjoy a well-deserved lunch, taste the local tapas and wines. In the afternoon we can visit the different museums such as the wine horses museum, or visit the sanctuary of the Vera Cruz.

The Camino del Levante cycling adventure comes to an end.

Back home. We have spent some incredible days cycling and we have the pilgrim’s credential “caravacensis”. We hope you liked the experience and that you will keep good memories of all the moments. You will take with you a part of the Region of Murcia in your heart and a huge amount of photographs and videos to share with friends and family. We are delighted to have shared with you this adventure of walking the Camino de la Vera Cruz for the Jubilee Year 2024.
