The European Charter for Sustainable Tourism is an initiative promoted by the EUROPARC Federation, whose goal is to encourage a tourism model that is compatible with the conservation of protected natural areas.
The CETS promotes collaboration between public administrations, tourism businesses and local stakeholders in order to develop tourism activities that:
respect the natural environment
contribute to the conservation of protected areas
support local socio-economic development
improve the visitor experience
promote environmental awareness
